Champions in the news
- Adalia Janssen of United Translators Inc. was the recipient of the 2007 Rising Star Award given by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce & Industry. United Translators has grown from one employee in its first year to over 45 people currently employed and serves all of Northeast Wisconsin and Milwaukee.
- Dan Frievalt and Teri Shevy of artessence were recognized at the Professional Photographers of Wisconsin Fall State Convention. Dan was awarded Best of Show for his image 'Rising Sun' and Teri also received an award for her print 'Envy'. artessence was also recently selected as the photographer for the "NBC 26 Dream Wedding".
- Joe Leiterman and James Fuss, S&M Tool Manufacturing, have added 3,000 sq. feet to their location, which includes additional employment and equipment.
- Lisa Pelletier of Bejeweled Images Fine Jewelry traveled the state touring with 18 juried art shows. She placed 2nd in the Wet N Whistle Wine Festival Art Show for "Best Piece".
Alumni Gives Back
Sandee Sims of Inspirations Salon celebrated her business's two year anniversary by having a giving back "cut-a-thon" with a donation to Urban Hope tuition scholarships. We extend our thanks to the participating stylists from the salon and alumni business Seth Kutzleb for his entertainment.
Entrepreneur Tour
A group of Korean students studying at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay experienced entrepreneurship by visiting several of our businesses in the downtown area. Special thanks to alumni Kay Huxford for her partnership with this project, Angelina Restaurant and Three Thirty-Five Framing.
